At Cannan Land Farms, we take pride in offering a wide variety of fresh meats straight from our pastures. From grass-fed, grain finished beef or pasture-raised pork, or our no antibiotic, juicy chicken our selection is guaranteed to satisfy your cravings for premium, homegrown meat.

Our meets are raised without antibiotics and can be ordered as non-gmo with extra cost. Every animal we raise gets the best absolute care we can provide. We are very hands on with the care of our animals to make them happy. We want our animals to provide us and you with the best meat possible so we try to keep everything clean and healthy for our animals.
Chicken
The meat chickens we raise and sale are the Cornish cross chickens. They are bred to grow big fast without hormones and are only used for meat. From the time our chicks arrive, it takes 8 weeks until we butcher them. We usually only order males because they get bigger and it costs the same from the hatchery. We order our meat chickens as chicks and when they are old enough with weather permitting(ususally 3-4 weeks).They are then moved to the movable chicken house and that is where they stay until butchering. Every day they are moved so they can get fresh grass, bugs and have clean area to move. We usually butcher twice a year, spring and fall but you can order yours ahead of time and we can get you some ready. If your interested please contact us for pricing and availability.
Pork
We have started raising our own meat hogs and we will be offering some to the public probably in March 2025. They are half old spot and Hereford breed. We chose this breed for the enough fat for sausage but they are more meat than fat. We bought these from a local breeder and will be keeping a sow to raise our own in the future. We will be butchering our own but you can have a butcher do yours if that's how you want to do it. There will be an extra cost for processing as you will just be buying the meat per pound from us. We will be selling whole hogs, so if you would like just a half then you would be responsible for finding someone else to buy the other half unless we have someone. Contact us for prices and availability but we would suggest you let us know your interested before they are all sold because we will have limited amount.
